Title: Word Search by POWGI

System: Wii U (eShop)

Price: $7.99

Release date: 4/16/2015

The main game/story

In this game, you complete word search puzzles, just like the title says. It does what it’s advertised to, so there’s not much to say here!

Graphics

The menus are rather simple, and they work fine with either the Wii U Gamepad or Wii Remote. Everything is easy to read so for a word search game it gets the job done.

Music and Sound:

Besides a repetitive track that plays throughout the whole game, not much here either. I’d recommend turning the sound off for full concentration.

Gameplay

When you begin the game, you pick a category, then a subject and you are off to play a corresponding word search puzzle! That’s the entire game, and it works just fine, with the Wii U Gamepad being the best method to control the game as it’s much easier to get used to compared to the Wii Remote. Speaking of Wii Remotes, you can connect up to four extra remotes to have your friends or family join in. Competitive play, or co-operative play? That’s up to you to decide, and I found the multiplayer aspect to be the best part of this game, as it can lead to a lot of fun moments, especially considering the amount of content in the game.

Conclusion

In conclusion, Word Search by POWGI does what it’s advertised to do. It’s a very simple word search game, on your Wii U, and not much else. If you are a big fan of word search puzzles and want something to play on the Wii U, this will be perfect for you, as it has a lot of puzzles to keep you busy. On the other hand, if you aren’t a big fan of word search puzzles, then this game will do absolutely nothing to change your mind. There is a demo for both the Wii U and 3DS eShop versions of the game, so if you aren’t sure whether it’s for you or not, feel free to try it! I give Word Search by POWGI a 6 out of 10, and only recommend it to big fans of word search games, as it’s simply a word search game that works just fine.

Thanks to Lightwood Games for the review code.
