Seafoam Gaming November Status Update

Hey again! New month, another in my more frequent efforts to update and give ETAs on the newest review plans. Let’s jump into it with some big positives!

The Xbox Queue is cleared!

Yes, I finally did it! The Xbox Series X queue has been fully caught up, at least in terms of the overdue stuff. I’m getting really close to finishing a review for Air Twister, which will likely come out later today or tomorrow. Still, with this all set, that’s one full system out of the queue, with the plans for future games on this system being some simpler, compilation titles or indie games that catch my eye, preferably after I do the other systems. Speaking of which…

Good Switch Progress!

The Fall is one of the next older queue titles to be focused on. Been enjoying it a good bit and realizing how nostalgic it was, considering how the Wii U version launched back in the early days of SFG itself. This late switch port hit when Part 2 launched, and well… Better late than never. Hopefully shining a spotlight on this first part in a fun cinematic adventure will maybe spark a bit of interest in Part 3 finally happening? Definitely want to binge both parts sometime, so maybe I’ll buy part 2 and review it after the queue is clear for completion sake, as I’m really digging this.

Otherwise I continue my way with note taking for Neo Atlas, RCG2, and Citizens Unite, which is just more COE at this point. Should finally be able to give the space portion a shot soon and wrap that up for good… I’m also wanting to try and squeak in one of the lost reviews by redoing my Tokyo School Life review i nearly finished, but I gotta replay it for notes anyhow first. In the “bonus time” reviews i may knock out on a whim to give a week something to take up space productivity wise, I’m planning on covering the port of the FFII Pixel Remaster and the first two EGGCONSOLE releases of computer games, along with the full DLC edition of Final Bar Line. Those are definitely way lower priority than the queue stuff though.

PS4 on the horizon

My post-move situation is pretty much over now and my setup is very clean. I have video space again! I also have PS4 space, and will be getting it out to tackle that queue. Firstly is Beholder and Omensight, along with Valthrian Arc for the shorter games on the list. Then it’s allllll those RPGs in December to see if I can make it under my own deadline. Here’s hoping! Short of my PS4 exploding, it should go according to plan at my pace.

Steaming Ahead

Arcade Spirits is going well. I feel I’ve seen all the mechanics already but I wanna reach an ending before I write the review. TSIQUE is up next as it’s a simpler game than Fuga 2, which will be a full blown binge that I hope CC2 appreciates despite the absurd, unintended delay for that game’s review. Really, it should have never launched in May. But it’s better than if it launched last month, which would have been really poor. I also got a review for the next Recharged game from Atari set for this week, so look forward to that! This is likely the next system to be fully caught up, though Fuga will be a big sink.

Youtube Stuff

My first video in a year is set for this month. Nothing fancy, just an unscripted status update for the YT crowd about where I went and why the low performance of the Tomie video depressed my drive. But it also revived my writing drive along with my move, so on the other hand it got me talking to Tomie again. I gotta send him a reply and ask him something, and while it won’t lead to a second interview or anything, if I can get confirmation he saw a certain something, the video’s existence would be more than validated for me, even if it froze at the current 980 view count. …Though I guess that means we’ll see if the “1K views will unsearchban your video” talk I saw online will lead to the video finally getting its breakout moment. I also submitted it to a contest which probably won’t amount to anything, but who knows…

Misc plans and Conclusion

Ultimately I do like my pace with SFG now. Balancing full time work and my own site is very tough in a weekday period, but I’m managed to get a good chunk out and October was the best performing month in a long while, proving my point of not needing Twitter. I wanna try and do another Interview Initiative article on a YT channel I really, really have liked lately in the form of Famidaily, so I’ll see if I can reach out to that person and have a fun retro talk to share with you all. Otherwise, the queue is the focus, and the Holiday season will finally give me my first full day off since my move, so I’m pretty excited to have more time to trim the queue.

Until the next update, take care and be safe, and look forward to our Air Twister review as soon as I’m awake enough to finish polishing it.
