Well, I planned for a review tonight, but am out of time so i’m crunching out a quick one of these before i get it out tomorrow. I’ll try to make it to the point!
Twitch Branding!
With the review queue slowly winding down, I’m thinking of just streaming my general backlog to Twitch for fun. I’m not gonna really do any review code content here, but I definitely want to hang out with my fellow furpals and other game friends! As a result, I recently commissioned a new icon from my good friend Alison_Kit. Check it out!

It’s me!!! Well, my silly fox self that is, and you’ll see me on twitch soonish! For the general site banner/logo, I do plan on also commissioning something new for it. My old logo has done well the past several years, but with the queue wrapping I feel it’s time to change to something newer, less copyright debatable. Still prototyping ideas in my head for that but I expect the SFG site logo change to be in 2024.
Another light in sight!
The end of another tunnel! The Steam queue is working out very, VERY nicely. Arcade Spirits should be finished up tomorrow for review, and thus that leaves the big behemoth of Fuga 2 left to play, before another adventure game. Then, the Steam queue should be clear to my knowledge! Again, I may find some IFI games hidden in my email, but for the stuff I currently redeemed and took notes for, just two games remain. Fuga 2 is gonna get a lot of binge time and it’s gonna be a big crunch to finish it/play enough in time for the review, so I apologize for the wait on that.
Switch Slimming
More notes have been taken and I’ve tried so hard to get more knocked out here. I got The Fall knocked out this week, and I’m now focusing more on RICO and RCG2 next. Data Loss victim Tokyo School Life is also pretty close to being next for review, and non-queue games like the Valis Collection III/EGGCONSOLE stuff should also be viable in the near future too. I dunno how many of this I’ll get done before 2024 but I really would love to knock them all out by the new year, or at the very least, all the non mega-long RPG adventure games. Multitasking with notes is always a struggle for me but I feel it’s getting better and I’m seeing a bit of a light in this tunnel, too.
PS4 Slowdown
Beholder and Omensight are the next PS4 games locked for review, that’s easy. But the rest of this queue is a lot of long, long games. Some I may be able to do pretty briefly or skim over, but stuff like CSIV or Yakuza 5 will absolutely not make it out this year; I’ll literally die if I crunch myself to do those on top of my full time work. Still, I wanna get as much of the queue done as I can, so if I can get more than those two done, that would be great! But for now, I think it’s best to save this system for later, begrudgingly at least. I know I failed my hopes of doing the full queue this year, but with all my progress so far, I’m hoping that when this is all that’s left, I’ll knock these RPGs out like bowling pins.
(It also helps that Cold Steel IV is getting a PS5 port soonish, so maybe my review of it will be semi topical after all?)
Oh yeah cold is gone
That really annoying cold drove me insane a few weeks ago. But around a week ago today I got over it! Hence why The Fall review came out this week and I worked a bit on playing Arcade Spirits and finishing my notes for it after playing enough of it. Hoping I don’t get struck again by anything else, since being out of writing potential for my planned 5 day vacation was very, very draining.
So yeah, that’s a brief bit of updates. I plan to do my end of year roundup on top of all this too, and have already started drafting it. Like last year, it’ll be a four parter with my usual EOY game lists, but this time the fourth part is just a look into the future, sorta like these status updates. But we’re nearing the 10th year of me as a reviewer, so uh, there’s a lot of plans in mind. Look forward to it!
