Seafoam Gaming July 2024 Status Update

A new month approaches and thus, a new status update! A short and simple one today.

The Light at the end of the Review Queue

We did some progress on the queue this month! A couple of Switch games knocked down, and I’m currently on Worlds End Club right now. I hoped to do it this weekend, but with how the story hooks me, I just have to keep playing! So more than likely this week, I’ll introduce my Evercade Review project and write a little intro post on Friday.

As the queue games get longer and longer, I’ll want to write a few Evercade cart reviews to queue up for weeks where I just don’t have time to write much of anything. I can’t review some of these long RPGs with only a few hours of impressions, after all! (Unless they’re bad like Caligula)

But yeah. Switch continues to slim nicely and so did my XSX/Steam queue. Those are clear, and I’ll take some newish games from time to time depending on how they appeal to me and could fit in a short session, but otherwise I’m gonna work more on that Switch queue and get cracking on the PS4 one. Let’s keep up this pace!

Logo… Still in progress

I mentioned last update I was planning to draft a new logo to commission a friend to do… And then bills hit. So now that those bills are prepped for, I’m aiming to get it worked on in August. Sorry about that, hopefully I have something to show you next time.

Article Plans!

I originally planned to do some more opinion pieces: I wanted to ramble about the insanity of the Intellivision Amico, for instance, and I’m debating doing a much requested followup to one of my earliest limprint articles, but I feel in the end it’s best for me to just focus on my reviews for now; articles would be a distraction, and if I were to do an article, it would be an interview. I have a few interviews that might happen, but I’m waiting to see if the parties I asked will take up my offers. If so, expect some fun gaming and music remixing related interviews!

Conclusion

All in all, this update was very brief, as there’s not much else to say that I don’t already comment on via my Bluesky. I still have some other sitekeeping things to do in the future, but yeah. Just more queue work, some small games here and there, and Evercade stuff coming very soon!
