Title: SHUT THE BOX

System: Wii U eShop

Price: 0.99

Release date: 8/7/2014

The main game/story

What story? Anyway this is a Wii U version of a classic tile board game called Shut The Box. It’s simple, so I’ll explain it in the gameplay section.

Graphics

Like the other games RCMadiax has made, the graphics are nice and colorful and get the job done. The text is much easier to read than the previous games, and the colors of the tiles are good choices for the eyes. (Red, Blue and Green. Where’s the Yellow version Mike?).

Music and sound effects:

In the past I’ve mentioned that the music in the other RCMADIAX games got very annoying after a while. Well, luckily that isn’t the case here! Now the music is more soothing, and is relaxing in just the right way to the point it won’t get annoying unlike the other games. Trust me, I played this for 20 minutes straight because I really liked the background music! The sound effects fit with the game, just like they should.

Gameplay

The game is rather simple. You roll two dice, and the number they add up to is the number you tap on the touch screen. However the neat thing you can do is combining 2, 3, or 4 tiles to equal a number! If the dice is 12 for example, you can use a 2 tile, a 1 tile, a 3 tile, and a 6 tile to help clear the board. There are a lot of neat ways to add the numbers up to clear the board, but it’s hard to get a perfect game. Thankfully there is a high score displayed in the bottom right for extra replay value.

Conclusion

For a one dollar game, there isn’t too much to say about this one. However, RCMADIAX has one again made a fun game, with a lot of replay value and one that is certainly enjoyable. With a very easy concept, anyone can have a ton of fun with this one! I give SHUT THE BOX a 9 out of 10, and recommend it to people looking for a good, quick eShop game.

Thanks to RCMADIAX for the review code.
