Rayman Raving Rabbids ESRB Rated as a Wii Retail Download for Wii U eShop

The party game that came out early in the Wii’s life cycle is getting a Wii U eShop rerelease soon, according to this ESRB rating.

Considering how unlikely it is that we’ll get a full-blown remake on a system that was discontinued in favor of the super successful Nintendo Switch handheld, it’s safe to assume that this release is a Wii Retail Download, meaning that buying it from the Wii U eShop will give you the same experience as putting in the Wii Disc. (since the game lacks Classic Controller support)

This is not related to the Virtual Console service in any way, shape or form, since Wii titles are just retail downloads that offer no bonus features, unlike the custom controls or Restore Points of actual VC games. They even boot up in Wii Mode and therefore require a wii controller to play.
