Title: Blok Drop X Twisted Fusion

System: Wii U (eShop)

Price: $1.99

Release date: 12/18/2014

The main game/story

This is a sequel of sorts to RCMadiax’s first game, Blok Drop U, a physics game where you must remove all of the blocks in order to safely land on the ground. Before I began reviewing games on PBZ, I bought BDU on release date only to become disappointed at the lack of challenge and content. Can this new game redeem my perception on the concept? Let’s find out!

Graphics

These graphics look much better than the simple ones from the first game. There are enemies now and they have nice animations, the backgrounds are better and the levels have good variety. A big improvement over the first game.

Music and sound effects:

This game has much better music than the original BDU, as it actually has more than one song for once! They are songs that sound quite epic, maybe a bit too epic for this sort of game, but it’s very nice to finally see some variety in the audio department.

Gameplay

Plays mostly the same as the first game. You remove all of the blocks in the area to guide your robot friend to safety! However, this game adds in a whole new layer of strategy by adding enemies to the mix. You now have to destroy all of the enemies and land safely all in one go, or else you must start over. This helps make the game much more difficult than the initial installment. Combine that with a decent amount of stages and you have a MUCH longer game than the original Blok Drop U, easily making it worth the money.

Conclusion

Blok Drop X Twisted Fusion may have more to do with BDU than TF, but that’s not a bad thing. It takes the original game and makes it much more fun to play by adding challenge and clever puzzles to the mix. However, the challenge might turn off some players, as some of the later stages can become quite difficult to the point they will be frustrating. If you are looking for a good challenge on the eShop, it isn’t a bad idea to spend $2 on this interesting crossover game. Now let’s hope Twisted Fusion isn’t that far away.

I give Blok Drop X Twisted Fusion an 8 out of 10

Thanks to RCMADIAX for the review code.
